Website platform migration, in plain words

A website platform migration means rebuilding your site on a different system, such as moving from Drupal, Shopify or an older HTML site to WordPress. We call it a Website Platform Upgrade or Change, because it is much more than moving files: every page, form and feature is rebuilt on the new platform.

Our goal is pixel perfection, and we usually achieve it. Some platforms control how everything loads in their own way, so in those cases we get as close as the platform allows. At most, your site looks like it had a light refresh. Visitors will not be able to tell it moved to a new platform or server.

The same process also lets us modernize an old website, bringing a forgotten site into 2026, and rebuild a site you lost access to from what is still online or in archives.

Website Platform Upgrade or Change: Starter

The Starter upgrade ($1,200) moves a website of up to 5 pages to a new platform and keeps it looking and working the same. It takes about 5 to 7 business days.

How Olea Works rebuilds your website

Every rebuild and platform change follows our proprietary replication process:

Inventory. We map every page, form, image and feature on your current site.
Rebuild. Pages are rebuilt on the new platform to match your design as closely as the platform allows.
Move and connect. Content, images and forms are moved, redirects are mapped and SEO details are carried over.
Test. We check the new site on desktop and mobile before anything goes live.
Launch. Your old site stays live until launch day, so there is no gap.
Fix. We fix anything that comes up for 30 days after launch.

Redirects and carried-over SEO are built to protect your search rankings. Rankings can still wobble for a few weeks after any move while search engines catch up, and nobody can guarantee rankings.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a website platform migration take?

A small site of up to 5 pages takes about 5 to 7 business days. Sites of 6 to 15 pages take about 2 to 3 weeks, and 16 to 40 pages or an online store take about 3 to 5 weeks.

Will I lose my Google rankings if I move platforms?

We carry over your SEO titles and descriptions and set up 301 redirects, which are built to protect your search rankings. Rankings can wobble for a few weeks after any move, and no one can guarantee them.

Can you move my website to WordPress?

Yes. Our most common moves to WordPress are from older HTML or PHP sites, Drupal and Shopify, and we move Wix sites too. Pricing starts at $1,200 for up to 5 pages.

Will my new website look exactly the same?

In most cases, yes. Pixel perfection is our goal. Where a platform controls how pages load, we get as close as it allows, and at most your site looks lightly refreshed.

What if I lost access to my old website?

We can usually rebuild it. Website Revival ($250) recovers content and images from old backups or archive snapshots, and we rebuild the site from there.

Do you copy other websites for Inspired Builds?

No. We design from what you liked about other sites, such as layout, feel or features, and build something original for your own audience.
